Although Helen Keller is probably the most well-known and admired deaf-blind person in our country, she was only one of thousands of people who are classified "deaf-blind." Today children and adults who are deaf-blind face even more challenges than Helen did. Many have additional handicapping conditions, including severe health concerns. Families and local communities struggle to find the supports and services necessary to allow each deaf-blind person to lead a fulfilling life. The following links give insights into some of the challenges and successes of deaf-blind people today.
